Our lovely #Trigg client took advantage of our underfloor heating promotion in June. We initially quoted for an ensuite transformation, however as we also specialise in project management we were asked to reach outside the bounds of the bathroom space and undertook other exciting developments – keep reading below to find out what!

Here are some questions we’ve been asked along the way, do you have any others? Just contact us!

Where were those barn doors sourced from?

The barn doors for the master bedroom and ensuite were custom made and painted on site to ensure they fit perfectly.

The curved mirror adds a nice statement, is it functional too?

Yes, the curved mirror not only looks great but also works as additional storage for all of those much-needed essentials. There is adjustable shelving within so it can fit a range of products.

What was the scope of the transformation for the #Trigg project?

We created a mudroom for the entrance featuring beautiful jute and brass hooks, wall panelling, storage space and a machine washable linen-look cushion for the seating.

The transformation of the stairs was project managed by us alongside the wall panelling, balustrading, and skirting. New floors replaced the old floors upstairs to complement the tuart flooring on the ground level and the carpet in the master bedroom was also removed. All internal doors were replaced, the robe to the master bedroom was redesigned internally, the doors also being replaced – All whilst transforming the ensuite to the master bedroom!

The whole transformation took six weeks to complete, with the ensuite only taking three. The ensuite featured heated flooring so our client could experience the ultimate comfort in winter and those cooler days.

Were there any hiccups along the way?

The original tile we initially selected became unavailable so unfortunately, we weren’t able to go with that. We did however manage to source an alternative which our client loved so it ended up being a great outcome. These tiles suited the look they were going for perfectly.

What considerations needed to be made in the design of the ensuite?

The main factors our client wanted us to consider when making selections were:

Incorporating blue into the colour scheme – The client loves the colour blue and really wanted that incorporated into the ensuite somehow. The Forbes Encaustic Look Blue tile we sourced has soft powder blues throughout and our brushed brass fittings only enhanced these soft blues. The sliding barn door leading into the ensuite was also painted in a Dulux Calico Dress.

Ease of cleaning – An undermount basin, wall top assembly tapware and darker grout were selections all made for the most practical solutions for cleaning. Wall top assembly tapware minimises water and grime getting in the joinery and an undermount basin minimises the same. White grout can be hard to keep clean and manage so the darker grout was the best solution and also creates a nice feature and brings depth to the wall tiles.

We look forward to completing further works including a main bathroom and laundry transformation for #Trigg in January 2019. So do watch this space and #Trigg.cont as some amazing selections have been made including incorporating a dog bath into the client’s laundry!
